As you remember, Intel Convertible Classmate PC or tablet is a touch netbook that targets children. Intel is going to display the final unit of Classmate tablet or Netvertible or CTL 2go Tablet at CES Jan- 2009. Of course Intel will not be the only company that will demonstrate a Touch netbook, MSI, and Asus are going to put on show their prototype touch-enabled Wind PC and Eee PC netbooks, as well.
Already, I have covered the feature set, pros and cons of this netbook in my previous entry (Classmate tablet or Netvertible or CTL 2go Tablet Hands-on; First Impressions) and nothing has changed about this netbook. However, Intel has worked on some of the weak points of the netbook and the final unit comes with slightly more facilities than the unit was reviewed before.
First of all, Intel will try to offer several color options. Second, the precise 180 degree swivel webcam is steady. Third, the netbook will come with lots of software tools and learning tools preloaded in netbook for taking more advantage of the touch technology. For instance, the system will be preloaded with Vision Objects Pen Input software tool that will help you to turn the handwriting into editable text. It is also consist of a virtual keyboard.
Fourth, the accelerometer of this netbooks operates well and quickly. When turning netbook vertically, the software adjusts the screen in less than 2 second.
It is clear than Intel is going to launch this netbook soon after CES. Although it is made for children, the system looks pretty appealing for adults too. I hope after the good success that Classmate Tablet will experience (hopefully) Intel think of making another one but for adult.
